ADAS In Focus At Collision Repair Expo 2026

Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) will be a central focus at the 2026 Collision Repair Expo (CRE), reflecting the growing complexity of modern vehicle repair.

Proudly sponsored by SAPE Group and co-located with the Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo, the Collision Repair Expo will take place from 14–16 May 2026 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, bringing together suppliers, trainers and repair professionals from across Australia and beyond.

As ADAS becomes standard across more vehicles, repairs can impact system performance. Cameras, radar and sensors can be affected by changes in vehicle geometry, ride height and structural alignment, making correct repair processes and calibration essential to ensure vehicles are returned to the road safely.

ADAS capability will be a major feature across both the Expo floor and training program. A dedicated ADAS-focused business session will turn the new national ADAS Industry Code of Conduct into practical shop-floor processes, helping repairers determine when calibration is required, apply the Code’s decision-making framework, and implement the documentation and communication practices needed to remain compliant and protect customers.

This will be complemented by the ADAS Training Zone, a free feature area on the trade show floor providing expert-led demonstrations, specialist advice and access to the latest calibration equipment. The zone will help workshops understand best-practice workflows and build confidence in applying ADAS procedures, with sessions led by international ADAS specialists Keith and Liz Perkins from L1 Automotive Group (USA).

Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association (AAAA) Chief Executive Officer Stuart Charity said ADAS represents one of the most significant shifts in collision repair.

“ADAS is now part of everyday repair work, and repairers need a clear understanding of how their work impacts these systems,” Mr Charity said. “The Expo provides practical, hands-on access to the tools, training and expertise needed to support safe and consistent repair outcomes.”

The Collision Repair Expo will also feature a dedicated training program led by Australian and international experts, including Robert Snook (UK) and Sam Street, focused on building capability, improving business performance and preparing repairers for the future.

In addition to ADAS, the Expo will showcase technologies and training across paint and refinishing, panel repair equipment, workshop tools and integrated software systems for estimating, workflow management and quality assurance.

A new Expo feature for 2026 will be the I-CAR Welding Zone, where visitors can test and refine their skills using virtual and live welding environments, supported by experienced trainers demonstrating correct techniques and safety practices.

The Expo will also see the return of the Lowbake spray booth, delivering live demonstrations and insights into refinishing processes that improve efficiency, throughput and repair quality.

With a strong focus on practical training and real-world application, the 2026 Collision Repair Expo provides repairers with the tools and knowledge needed to keep pace with industry change.

Thousands of collision repairers are expected to attend the most important event for the Collison Repair Industry. Registration is free for trade professionals at www.collisionrepair.com.au
