Technology will take centre stage at the 2026 Collision Repair Expo (CRE), as Australia’s collision repair industry gathers to explore the innovations, tools and training shaping the future of vehicle repair.
Co-located with the Australian Auto Aftermarket Expo from 14–16 May 2026 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, the Collision Repair Expo is proudly sponsored by the SAPE Group. Together, the co-located Expos are expected to attract more than 13,000 visitors from across Australia and beyond, bringing together the full breadth of the automotive aftermarket and collision repair sectors over three days.
With modern vehicles becoming increasingly complex, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) will be a major focus of the Collision Repair Expo. As ADAS features become standard across new vehicles, correct calibration and verification following repairs is no longer optional. The Expo will showcase the latest ADAS calibration equipment, diagnostic software and repair workflows, helping repairers understand best practice and the systems required to return vehicles safely to the road.
Virtual reality (VR) and immersive training technologies will also be in the spotlight, reflecting a growing shift in how skills are developed in the collision repair sector. VR-based solutions are being used to simulate repair scenarios, improve technician competency and accelerate training outcomes — all while reducing risk, downtime and training costs. These emerging tools are increasingly being adopted globally and will be demonstrated live at the Expo.
Other advanced collision repair technologies on display will include next-generation repair solutions for high-strength steel, aluminium and composite-materials, and integrated software systems that streamline estimating, repair planning, workflow management and quality assurance. Together, these technologies are redefining what a modern collision repair operation looks like.
Beyond technology, the Collision Repair Expo will bring together the industry’s leading brands across paint and refinishing, panel repair equipment and workshop technology and tools, making it a must-visit event for repairers looking to invest in their businesses. The Expo floor will offer a comprehensive view of the solutions available to collision repairers today, providing a rare opportunity to see, compare and engage directly with the products, expertise and support shaping the industry’s future.
Education is a cornerstone of the Collision Repair Expo, with a training program designed to support both the technical excellence and commercial sustainability of collision repair businesses. Business management training will focus on productivity, workforce challenges, cost pressures and profitability, equipping owners and managers with practical strategies to strengthen their operations.
The ever-popular Lowbake Spray Booth returns, providing an exciting space to showcase new paint technology, as well as a unique education opportunity, with live spray-painting demonstrations taking place throughout the event.
Networking is another major drawcard of the Collision Repair Expo, with the event offering unparalleled opportunities to connect with peers, suppliers, trainers and industry leaders. Over three days, attendees can build relationships, share insights and engage in conversations that are difficult to replicate outside a national industry event of this scale.
AAAA Chief Executive Officer Stuart Charity said the Collision Repair Expo reflects the realities and future direction of the industry.
“Collision repair is being reshaped by technology at every level — from vehicle design and safety systems through to repair methods, training and business models,” Mr Charity said.
“The Collision Repair Expo brings together the technology, the training and the industry expertise that repairers need to navigate that change. It’s not just about seeing what’s new; it’s about understanding how to apply it in a real-world workshop environment.”
Mr Charity said the strength of the event lies in the combination of technology, education and connection.
“Repairers can engage directly with the best brands in the industry, learn from leading trainers, and connect with peers facing the same challenges. The networking opportunities are unmatched, and that exchange of knowledge is critical as the industry continues to evolve.”
